Earlier this week I posted some information about Visiting the Racetrack Playa in Death Valley National Park. This morning I updated that story with a few photos from the area.
In response to some comments I received, let me make it clear that I definitely do not recommend visiting the playa at this time of year – this is really a trip for the cooler winter or early spring season. Travel into the Death Valley back-country during the summer is not pleasant and is generally unwise unless you really know what you are doing and are well equipped. Check with Death Valley NP and other sources for more official and current information before visiting.
