Dan – this is absolutely fabulous! This is with out any doubt one of the very best abstracts I’ve seen. I love the colors, the angle, and the textures – almost like a flame! Really great!
Well, thanks, Richard. We were at an event at the De Young Museum that featured many, many floral arrangements throughout the galleries. Patty is very, very interested in photographing flowers – and doing quite a nice job, I must add – but I wasn’t quite “feeling the love” for photographing the bouquets as flowers. (Looking at them was a different matter – some were really extraordinary.) So I decided to try using the flowers and some of the other elements of the gallery as raw material for images that I could create by means of various manipulations, both in the camera and in post.
