“Steel Structure, Seattle” — A joint in a rusted steel structuew.
During the first day of my recent early-January 2008 trip to Seattle I had some time to wander around the Seattle Sculpture Park. This is a great place to spend a bit of outdoor time in Seattle – not too far from downtown and the surrounding attractions, but an open space overlooking Puget Sound and filled with interesting objects. I made several photographs while I was there, mostly focusing on details of some of the sculptures and other structures.

I’ve been able to do night photography at the Mare Island Naval Shipyard on several occasions. I made this photograph of these rows of old concrete bunkers as we waited for the light to go away – which probably seems like an unusual thing for a photographer to wait for!
