I’ve made some significant changes over at my Photography Gallery, where I archive the photographs posted on this blog and elsewhere. The major change has been to switch to a simple layout that focuses more on the photographic images and, I hope, is a bit more logical to navigate. Let me know what you think!

New Comments Features Added
I have added a feature to the comment pages on the site that should allow you to receive email notifications of follow-up posts in comment threads. (Site members can leave comments or ask questions by clicking the comment link on any post at this site.)
On a related note, I’ve added a list of most recent thread comments to the sidebar, and the active discussions link at the top of the page provides a more complete list of topics and comment threads.
A New Host… And a New Start?
After dealing with a non-responsive and arbitrary hosting company for the past month, things finally reached a breaking point this week when they took my site off-line without any warning and then failed to respond to my tech support emails.
I’m with a new hosting company now.
I believe that all of the text content made it over from the old site, but I’m quite sure that many images – especially older ones – did not. I’m still thinking about the best way to handle this. I may try to reconstruct the image links in the thousands of older posts that included them, or I may just delete them and gradually repost the best of those photographs in an updated format.
I’m afraid that site memberships were not successfully transferred. Please accept my apology for this, and visit the site membership page to find out about re-registering.
In one bit of good news, it does appear that the old RSS feed is still working.

Site Status Update
I think I’m finally making some real progress on getting this web site back to a functional state. I think (knock really, really hard on wood – twice) that this blog and the companion gallery site are now more or less fully functional. One major issue remains and will likely not be resolved until last week – restoring the photographs that were archived in the gallery. At the moment they are gone, but I have a copies and I will be able to take care of the time-consuming work of restoring them.
