Spillway Lake is in the Yosemite backcountry in the Mono/Parker Pass area, just below the ridge of Kuna Crest. Although the lake is not visible in this picture, it is in the basin below the far ridge.
This stretch of Hiway 395 just north of Mono Lake is flanked by aspen groves rising toward the Sierra crest. The beautiful light at sunset changes extremely quickly.
