Jim M Goldstein has compiled a list of the “best of the year” images from a bunch of photographers who read his blog. I think it is interesting to see how photographers regard their own work, and these individual “best of” lists are a great resource… and a lot of fun to look at. Kudos to Jim for putting this list together and sharing it!

This photograph comes from a night photography shoot with The Nocturnes, a SF Bay Area night photographers’ group. It is another image that I had passed over originally and which I rediscovered during my end-of-year search through the 2007 photograph archives.
The “Grandstand” is a large rock formation standing in the middle of the otherwise-flat Racetrack Playa in the “outback” of Death Valley National Park. (The Racetrack is the location of the famous sliding rocks.)
This is a photograph that I “rediscovered” during my annual year-end look back through all of my files from the previous year. As I do this I often find photos that I somehow overlooked originally.
