Construction cranes seem to tower above Manhattan buildings
Last December, on our last day in Manhattan before flying back to the West Coast, we took the morning to walk the High Line Park along the west side of Manhattan, making a special point to walk across the new, northern section that we had not visiting on previous visits. This section takes a jog to the west around the Hudson Yards and then soon ends.
There is a huge construction project in progress here. I understand it to be one of the biggest ever in Manhattan, and it will take a long time to complete it. As the park’s walkway travels along the edge of the site there are great opportunities to look at the construction close up. This dramatic view looks north, past tall construction cranes towards existing towers, with a rather dramatic sky above.
