I frequently walk past this fern covered section of creek when I hike the main trail to Castle Rock and Goat Rock at Castle Rock State Park in the Santa Cruz Mountains of central California.

The story: I frequently hike to this tree in the Calero Hills and I have photographed it several times in the past. This time I was attracted by the fog drifting in the background, the similarity between the shape of the uplifted branches and the clouds, the two oaks in the background, and the litter of dropped branches in the foreground.
