The story: This small pond is actually the lower end of Fletcher Lake, located in the Yosemite backcountry near the Vogelsang High Sierra Camp. I had followed the receding line of last light across the meadow behind me, and this was the final light at the end of the lake.

The story: Ships anchored in the middle of San Francisco Bay are visible from this location not far from the Bay Bridge, but often slighty obscured by haze or fog. This is one in a series of photographs of this scene.

The story: On this brilliant September morning near a rocky outcrop on the ridge south of Mission Peak, the views above the coastal fog and below the high clouds extended many miles in all directions.
