Yes, fun with Photoshop. I was set up by the shore of Mono Lake, camera on the tripod and set to operate in burst mode, as hundreds of seagulls flocked nearby. I assembled this image from the half dozen frames I shot as this gull obliging crossed on a rising curve from right to left.
I’ve had relatives be less cooperative with my attempts to take their photo… ;-)

I heard an excellent lecture by playwright Stephen Dietz, about what he called “The Four Seductions” – the four big things that seduce artists away from making the best art they can. Three of the four are disparagement of craft, criticism, and blaming the audience; number one on Dietz’s hit parade is distrust of beauty.
