Just for the heck of it, I have added a discussion forum to the site. Some of you who email me questions or information about photography issues from time to time might want to wander over there, sign up, and post something. :-)
In addition to the requisite forums on equipment, technique, locations, and so forth I have included one focusing on photography in the SF Bay Area and another on photographers.
We’ll see where this leads…
Thanks!
Dan
(UPDATE: There was a problem with the registration code generation. I have fixed this, and it should now work correctly. I hope… )
I’m happiest when a site like this one is in a relatively stable mode, and I’m less happy when things change and I must delve into server-related stuff. I’ve had to do the latter this past week. It was partly my own fault for avoiding some necessary updates to the server environment. I took care of that, but then had to update a bunch of other stuff (like the software supporting the gallery portion of the site) for compatibility reasons. And stuff broke. I’m still wrestling with a problem that affects the display of the photos when I embed them in my other web sites. Oh, and I’m playing around with the addition of a forum.
Sigh. For awhile yesterday it seemed that no links from this page to other pages on the site were working except the links to the gallery. (Actually, it seemed that all of the links were going to the gallery pages.) I think I have sorted that out now. Do let me know if you encounter any problems though.
Fingers crossed…
Oh, yes, I did get out to do some photography yesterday. Some of the results are now in the queue and will appear on this page later in the month. If you just cannot wait, the photos do show up in the gallery before they arrive on this home page – and I posted several yesterday.
After a spate of updates and upgrades to my site software over the past day or two, a few rough edges remain. One of this involves the Gallery site, or at least the version of it that displays when you click on images shown on this page and elsewhere on this site.
I hope to work to fix this cosmetic issue soon. Everything works and you can see all of the image in the gallery – it just looks really ugly!
I’ve made it to all or parts of three stages of the Amgen 2008 Tour of California bicycle race, and I’ve shot a lot of photographs. Many of them will eventually appear on this page, but I’m posting them first into the bicycling section of my gallery – so head on over there if you are interested in these photographs and don’t want to wait to see them on this page. (They are not all posted as I write this, so you may want to check that link again later.)
