This is a photograph that I “rediscovered” during my annual year-end look back through all of my files from the previous year. As I do this I often find photos that I somehow overlooked originally.
The Pigeon Point Lighthouse is a landmark on the Pacific Ocean Coast below San Francisco, located between San Francisco and Santa Cruz, and provides a dramatic meeting place between land and sea.
This photograph was made in near darkness after sunset on the winter solstice. These steps lead up to a side trail above the main trail along the bottom of the canyon at Muir Woods.
