While out for a walk in Bath, England, I happened to look down and see this damaged green leaf sitting in a vortex of the weathered and eroded surface of the walkway. I’m not necessarily one to read overt messages into photographs, but if you enjoy searching for metaphors you may be able to come up with a few that seem relevant to this image.
Beyond that, the photograph is also a reminder to me (and perhaps others?) of the importance of looking around to see what else might be there. It is important to focus on the subject at hand — which here may have been trees or buildings — but that focus can also make us miss other opportunities. Like this one that was lying at my feet.
