This is a photograph I recently revisited. It was made on a very cold April spring morning in the Valley as the sunlight began to stream over Half Dome and illuminate the Glacier Point apron and as ground fog began to lift from meadows on the floor of the Valley.

Yes, another in the series – again from my early September photography trek to the Fletcher Lake area in Yosemite. (For those who may wonder, I’m getting close to the end of this string of photographs of the shoreline of Fletcher Lake.) In this one it was not only the morning light and the interesting textures on the far shoreline that attracted me, but also the circle of rocks in the still water and just offshore.

Rocky shoreline of Fletcher Lake and reflections in early morning light – Yosemite National Park, California.

Yet another in the series of morning photographs made in early September 2008 during my brief photographic expedition to Fletcher Lake and surrounding areas in the Yosemite National Park backcountry. Here oblique morning light strikes rocks, bushes, and a small shoreline meadow along the shoreline of the lake.

This is a portrait orientation version of a scene I photographed recently while on a backpack trip into the Vogelsang High Sierra Camp – Fletcher Lake area of the Yosemite National Park backcountry. I photographed these branches in morning light, and most of the light is filtering in from the other side of the tree and reflected from the sky and brightly illuminated rocks and lake.
