I photographed this doorway on a block in Dublin’s Temple Bar District that features several little shops — food places, a used clothing store, and so forth. Temple Bar is a busy place, and not visually subtle. So I imagine that the bar is pretty high when it comes to attracting the eyeballs of passers-by. As a result, there is a lot of eye-catching exterior paint, large and colorful signs, and more.
I don’t recall precisely what the purpose of this building is, but it certainly manages to catch the visual attention of passers-by. The plain white door is oddly paired with wildly colorful pant. The theme is a bit elusive — some of the imagery reminds me of the “Day of the Dead,” but then there are other touches, like the outer space images and the flying saucer at the upper left corner.
