Trees in Mist, Motherlode Near Drytown

Trees in the mist on a wet spring morning in the Motherlode near Drytown, California. This was photographed on a drive up some very lonely and narrow back roads above Highway 49 in Amador County. I only exposed four frames in this challenging weather, but since two of the four turned out to be interesting I’ll console myself with a 50% success rate. :-)

Two Spring Trees in Mist – Motherlode

Two spring trees in the mist with newly sprouted grasses underneath – Motherlode near Drytown, California. This was a tough photography day. It was raining lightly and the light was quite flat due to the heavy overcast and fog, and although I spent hours “on the prowl” I only managed to shoot this one scene.

Brick Wall with Arches, Mare Island

Old brick wall with arches, door, and windows in a building now used as a historical museum. This building is quite old, but inside this building is another older building that dates to the mid-1800s near the founding of the shipyard.

Color photograph of a waterfront street at Mare Island Naval Shipyard with cranes and artificial light. The precise spot is near the end of a large dry dock and not too far from the Mare Island Museum. Photographed on a night photography expedition with The Nocturnes SF Bay Area night photography group.
