I have admitted to a fascination with graphical elements — shapes, textures, colors, curves, and more. Finding them in the urban or natural landscape can make fairly mundane subjects interesting, at least to me. Here we see a small section of the corrugated metal wall of a very green industrial building. A couple of loops of chain hang from a gap between panels, for reasons that seem inscrutable.
If someone were to pose that infamous question, “what does it mean?”, I’m not sure I could tell them. I might say something about the intensity of the green paint, or note the juxtaposition of the perfectly vertical and horizontal lines. Or perhaps point out that the curved chain and its shadow is dissonant with the squared lines of the wall. Or maybe I just like the color green.
