Details of the construction of AT&T Park including lamps, stairs, and signage – with the San Francisco Oakland Bay Bridge in the distance.

This photograph was made near the top of the ramp to the upper deck of the SF Giants AT&T Park along the side facing the San Francisco Bay. Visible beyond the backside of the ballpark sign are the towers of the San Francisco Oakland Bay Bridge in the twilight.

Black and white photograph of older brick buildings with the more modern skyline of downtown San Francisco in the distance.

The same brick building that appeared in some night and evening photographs posted earlier appears in the foreground of this photograph. Beyond in the more modern downtown San Francisco skyline – if you look closely you can see a bit of the landmark Transamerica Pyramid peeking over the top of another building in the center of the image. The photograph was made very late in the day, within a shot interval just before sunset when the light streams in from the left at a very low angle.

Night urban landscape of brick and glass buildings near ATT&T Park in San Francco, California.

Although these brick buildings – at least the larger one in the background – appear to be relatively recent construction, the patterns and textures of the bricks are still interesting to me. As I continue to squeeze every last photo out of my dusk shoot during a Giants game at AT&T past week here is a photograph that I shot as a light was really starting to go. By a combination of an IS lens and very carefully hand holding the camera on the top of a low wall I managed to get a decent exposure without a tripod.

Urban landscape black and white photograph of brick buildings in downtown San Francisco, California.

Another photograph from AT&T Park, and again right around sunset. In this case I am shooting towards the downtown San Francisco skyline, which at this time of the day is intensely lit by the setting sun – hence the high key effect on the buildings in the distance and the sky gone all the way to white. With a bit of pondering it becomes apparent that this scene containing many different (mostly brick) walls and odd sized windows on buildings topped with skylights and ventolation systems is almost as complex a landscape as you can find. I like the glow inside the upper window of the closest building.
