Front doors and entrance of Templo la Hermosa de los Asembleas de Dios, San Jose, California.

Very late in the day, as the low sunlight hit the front of this rather plain brick church near the train station in down town San Jose head on, I walked past and noticed the very thick arch and old wooden doors, along with the bushes casting shadows on the front of the entry.

Black and white night photograph of the smokestack and industrial buildings at Mare Island Naval Shipyard. While I usually shoot this subject in color, I like the stark quality of this one in black and white, along with the way that the monochrome rendition emphasizes the forms of the buildings.

Dusk photograph of a Mare Island Naval Shipyard Industrial Street with historic buildings, shipyard structures, and tracks. Photographed early on during an evening of night photography at this historical location. This photograph looks up a dockside street that has old shipyard buildings on one side, railroad tracks in the middle of the road, giant crane-like structures overhead, and the drydocks and ship launching areas on the right.

A street and railroad tracks pass beneath shipyard structures and past old brick shop buildings at Mare Island Naval Shipyard in dusk light. The museum for this shipyard is housed in the brick building on the left side of the photograph – one of many interesting and historic structures still found at this location.
